THE BUCHANAN PROJECT
Written by Joan Sullivan Dramaturgy by Nicole Smith SYNOPSIS A biographical play following St. John’s feminist Roberta Buchanan through her first year of teaching, flashing back to her childhood in Northern Rhodesia, and flashing forward to her increasing articulate and performed second-wave feminism. The script is built from Buchanan’s writing, essays, papers, dramatic script, and poetry, both published and archival. Her text, and her voice, is witty, frank, sensual, informative, and unsparing. This is a one act, one woman production. |
